note: there is a previous post…. Blessings are labeled
If blessings are therefore commanded, where is the place of desire, of faith and of prayer?
If you desire anything, ask in prayer, and have faith that God heard you… Now faith also knows that if it is according to God’s will he will give you and if it’s not in line with his will, he won’t give you but will work in you to will and to desire his good pleasure… Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us; And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.(1John 5:14-15)
Where then is the place of work?
… Paul must continue to plant, Apollo must continue to water but know of a certainty …it is God that brings increase (1cor 3:6)… therefore, continue to do your work, sow in season and out of season, and at the due time, you will reap if you faint not. When the blessing come, know that u received it…it was given to you from above. This will help you not to be proud and lifted up in your heart thinking your own hands have gotten you all you have.
Someone used to say ‘no amount of winning can make God do for you today what he was planning to do tomorrow’.
If you scheme your way to get things for you, you have negotiated with the devil and you have bowed down to him unknowingly and you will bring forth Ismail, the son of a bond woman…. With all the troubles associated with him. But if you wait on God , you bring forth Isaac, the son of the promise and get the blessing.
It is only the blessing of God that makes rich and adds no sorrow (prov 10:22), any other blessing that doesn’t come God’s way already have sorrow added to it…you just may not know it at that time…it always manifest later because the devil can lay claim to it.. Wealth with sickness, children of sorrow, job with compromises, riches without long life to enjoy it…these are some things the devil corrupts your inheritance with if you negotiate with him.
The desire for quick gain, is a very common way of selling out to the devil….it has covetousness as it’s backbone and Satan works on that to introduces sorrow into someone’s life. This is why Jesus said in Luke 12:15 “Watch out! Guard yourselves against every form of greed, for a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”…’every form’ because it manifest in different forms, Ponzi schemes, dishonest gain, unequal measurement, cheating, robbery, stealing, forgery (that is a discussion for another day)
Now if we know and understand these things…
- We will wait patiently on God for our time, and we will wait with good attitude. Abraham was strong in faith giving glory to God… Knowing that what God has promised, he is able to do it it his own time.
- We will rejoice in tribulation knowing that the present inconveniences are nothing compared to the glory that shall be revealed in us.
- We will do our work now with good heart and take things that happen to us in good faith, knowing that God will cause everything to work out for our good.
- We will rejoice in whatever position we find ourselves knowing that God will lift us up in due season.
Blessings are indeed spiritual!
