1 Corinthians 10:13.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to ESCAPE, that ye may be able to bear it.
We all go through virtually the same thing, but what makes the difference is the way we view things, the way we interpret, the way we respond and the way we handle things.
Our view, interpretation, and responses are basically a function of who we are on the inside. Out of the abundance of the heart, a man will always speak. When you press a soggy foam, it brings out only its content; when we are pressured by circumstances, we respond only from the abundance of what we have stored inside.
Circumstances are not peculiar to anybody; indeed there is no new thing under heaven. There is not just one interpretation of life’s events, but the only true interpretation is that of the God that controls and allows events to happen. Therefore, if you want to interpret life event correctly, then you want to begin to see things through the eyes of God.
It’s not what happens to you in life that matters; it’s how you take it. Someone once said and I agree that nothing can do permanent harm to a child of God under His Father’s care if he will take the trial as he should.
When we understand that God controls everything in life, that our life is not a mistake, that all the days of our lives are written down before a single one of them came to being, that God is deliberate about us and will not leave events to happen to us by chance, that he is making everything (the good, the bad and ugly) to work together for our good, then we can learn to see God’s hand in every circumstances of life; and that is the only true way to view things.
Forty men went to spy a land, thirty-eight men came back with an evil report, and only two came back with a good report yet they spied the same land! The difference is that they gave their report based on the perception they carry from the inside while thirty-eight couldn’t see beyond the surface, the remaining saw the same challenges but they approach the same matter believing God will see them through. Now that is faith!!!! Hebrews 11:1.
If you fill your heart with the word of God, you will interpret and respond to life issues with the word of God, but if you fill your life (thoughts, emotions, and will) with the happenings all around, the news, soap operas, movies and other junks of life, you will also respond to life according to the junks you have been feeding on. No magic here, your heart will not disappoint you, what you feed your mind with is what you get when you need it. Remember Garbage in Garbage out.
