But the court will sit!

But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.  Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him….Daniel 7: 26-27 (please read the full chapter)

The whole of Daniel’s revelation in Daniel 7 can be summed up pretty much like this summary I got from a commentary online while studying this chapter:

  • Before the kingdom of God is established on the earth, four earthly kingdoms will rise and fall.
  • These kingdoms go from bad to worse. Arrogant, boastful, and even blasphemous kings will reign over the nations, opposing God and oppressing His saints.
  • This is by divine design.
  • During times of oppression, it may appear the saints are being defeated and that God’s kingdom is but wishful thinking.
  • When the sin and oppression of evil men reaches a predetermined point, God will remove them and establish His promised eternal kingdom.
  • Then the saints will receive the kingdom which will never end.

The chapter talks about the havoc the beasts will cause on earth, but just one line changed the tone of event: BUT THE COURT WILL SIT!!! That hits me so hard and I had to pause and meditate on it for a while.

God doesn’t engage in improvement program, oh let’s continue to manage until it becomes better…. All that needs to happen is for the court to seat! GOD already has a laid down plan from beginning to the end… the movie has an end and He knows the end right from the beginning.

Initially, it may look like the wicked one is getting away with his wickedness and he can continue to think he has the upper hand and can do whatever he wishes. As the wicked prosper in their sin, it seems as though they can continue in sin without any fear of divine judgment but we know they are wrong, for suddenly and without warning their day of destruction will come. When that day comes for them, it will be too late to repent.

No matter how difficult things may look like now, and there is no correlation between where you are and where you are supposed to be…. most times, we can’t even see the pathway of how things will work out or right itself; we need to take consolation in the knowledge that THE COURT will seat and pronounce judgment in our favor and that’s all we need to be where we are supposed to be and reign…. no days needed, no years needed again… in that same instant, things will turn around. Shikena!

..until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the holy people of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom.( Dan 7:22)

Just look at these: one moment Joseph was a prisoner, the next he was a prime minister…. one morning, David was a runaway servant…before the end of the day, he became the crowned king…. it usually happen like that in God’s agenda… God has a strategy…all well planned out. Trust God’s strategy and don’t get carried away and discouraged by all you see right now. Remember it got much worse towards the end; it usually does, but we already know the end of the whole drama: WE WON!!!!!!!!!! Halleluyah!!!
